GodotWeb Perl Script Archive 

Welcome to the Godotweb Script Archive, home of all the scripts that I, Michael Goode, have written, that I think the population at large would find useful. All scripts are saved as .txt files, so before running they must be changed to a .cgi or .pl ending.

I can no longer provide any support for any program. I have gotten out of programming to pursue other interests. Therefore, all programs are provided as is. Also, none of the script demos work due to a server change--and I cannot be bothered to get the demos to work again. Thank you for understanding.

Discuss v1.0 -- This is a simple to use, yet full featured, threaded messageboard. Stylistically, it is much like the Ultimate BBoard and the photo.net messageboards. All you need to do to set it up is to edit three html templates to fit your site, and then edit the variables in two configuration files. This program allows for administration--deleting threads and posts, as well as automatic deletion of old posts. Test board here. To administer the test, username='test' and password='test'.

Older Programs

Message Board v1.2 -- this program is a simple, but full featured, non-threaded message board that will automatically create and archive new pages of messages, and that records the IP addresses and Host Names of posters in an optional log file. See an example. (last update July 14, 2001)

Photoview v 1.51- this program, given a supply of image files (for the current version they must be jpegs) and thumbnails of those same images, will on the fly create an html thumbnail gallery of all the images in a directory, with each thumbnail linked to an html page generated on the fly that allows the end user to view the image at different resolutions. PicSize_Finder v 1.41- this is a companion program to Photoview, and, given a list of directories, will automatically generate a text database (in the format required for Photoview) that includes image names and sizes in pixels. See an example of the output.  (last update October 14, 2000)

Picvu v 1.45 - this is the image viewer/image re-sizer component of Photoview. It allows you to print out an html page with options to resize any image you link from. (last update December 24, 2000)

COBRA -- v 1.0 - this program allows visitors to your site to append their comments to specified pages on your website. You can set multiple pages to allow appending, using only one script. Here is a demonstration of this script.  (last update October 12, 2000)
